Astrophysics
I hold a PhD in Astrophysics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics. I researched the formation of the first most massive black holes in our Universe. My work focused on understanding how these black holes, that are a billion times as massive as our sun (supermassive black holes), could exist when the Universe was in its infancy. My publications listed below aimed at solving this problem by answering the following key questions:
1. What gave rise to these supermassive black holes?
2. Do they prefer a certain type of environment to dwell and flourish?
3. How many such black holes could possibly exist?
4. Where are they today?
